Anos mais tarde, formou-se em lingu\u00edstica e professor de surdos-mudos. No final do s\u00e9culo 19, Bell j\u00e1 alimentava o desejo de transmitir palavras \u00e0 longa dist\u00e2ncia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Em 7 de mar\u00e7o de 1876, com a ajuda do seu sogro americano, o escrit\u00f3rio de patentes dos Estados Unidos concedeu-lhe a patente n\u00famero 174.465. Ela cobre o m\u00e9todo do instrumento para transmitir sons vocais ou outros telegraficamente, causando ondula\u00e7\u00f5es el\u00e9tricas similares \u00e0s vibra\u00e7\u00f5es do ar que acompanham o som vocal, ou seja, o telefone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As primeiras palavras transmitidas oficialmente pelo aparelho foram &#8220;Mr. Watson, venha c\u00e1, eu preciso do senhor&#8221;.
