Foi substitu\u00eddo pelo presidente do Conselho Municipal, <strong>Francisco Ventura<\/strong>, que convocou novas elei\u00e7\u00f5es, vencidas por <strong>Juviniano Duarte<\/strong>, tomando posse em fevereiro, por\u00e9m deixou o cargo em julho de 1901, impedido pelo Senado da Bahia de exercer as fun\u00e7\u00f5es de intendente (<em>correspondente ao cargo de prefeito<\/em>) por ser Juiz de Direito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Foi ent\u00e3o reconhecida a elei\u00e7\u00e3o de <strong>Leonel da Cunha Amorim<\/strong>, que governou Bonfim at\u00e9 abril de 1903, quando cometeu suic\u00eddio. Novamente assumiu o conselheiro <strong>Francisco Ventura<\/strong>, permanecendo at\u00e9 o final de dezembro daquele ano. Seria sucedido por <strong>Laurindo Pereira Maia<\/strong>, vencedor das elei\u00e7\u00f5es municipais, mas que renunciou no mesmo dia que eleito.
